When professional support may be the better fit

Self-guided insight has real limits. If you’re working through trauma, addiction, mental health concerns, active conflict, separation, or anything that needs clinical judgement, a licensed counselor or therapist is the right resource — and it isn’t either/or. Plenty of couples use Clear Couples alongside professional support, bringing what they learn here into their sessions.

Clear Couples can complement professional support. It is not intended to replace appropriate care, and it can’t give you the personalized, trained guidance a professional provides.

If there’s an immediate safety concern

Clear Couples is not an emergency or crisis service

If you don’t feel safe sharing relationship information

Safety comes before using this product

Shared relationship technology isn’t right for every situation. If you’re afraid of retaliation, monitoring or coercive control, or of harm from a partner seeing what you record, please don’t use Clear Couples to work through it. You don’t have to confront anyone about it either — reach out to a support service first and let them help you plan.

Clear Couples doesn’t track your location or report your activity to your partner, but anything you record inside a couple space becomes visible to them. If you decide to use the app anyway, consider a device and an account your partner can’t access, and remember that anything already seen, exported or screenshotted can’t be recalled.

Using Clear Couples appropriately

Our Terms are clear about what isn’t acceptable: accessing another person’s data without permission, using the app for unlawful, abusive or harmful purposes, or using it to harass, manipulate or harm someone. Anyone doing that loses access — the platform investigates and acts.
