Sharing in Clear Couples isn’t one setting — it depends on which part of the app you’re using. This page goes feature by feature, including the cases that depend on your choices.
Records held against your own account: your sign-in credentials, the notes you attach to a rating, your Relationship Readiness assessment, your reminder preferences, and any AI report you generate.
Your couple space: rating cycles and scores, where you see things differently, goals, agreements, check-ins, progress and trends.
A counselor — only after you link one from the therapist directory. A retreat facilitator — only at the privacy level you choose when you join a retreat.
Different information follows different rules — that’s why the matrix below lists them one by one.
Understand Privacy & Sharing“Conditional” means it depends on a choice you make — a partner invitation, a linked counselor, or the privacy level you pick at a retreat. We haven’t flattened those into a simple yes or no.

Clear Couples asks for consent in five different places. They aren’t the same thing, so they’re listed separately.
When you start, you complete a consent step that records your acceptance of the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, along with acknowledgements that Clear Couples is not therapy or counseling and that insights are generated from your own input and may not be fully accurate. The Readiness module also records a data-sharing acknowledgement.
A partner joins only by accepting your invitation with their own account. Until they accept, the relationship stays pending and no shared results are created.
You link a counselor yourself from the therapist directory, and the app tells you they will be able to view your relationship data. You can unlink at any time. A counselor cannot link themselves to you.
Joining a retreat asks you to choose a privacy level — anonymous insights or full disclosure. The retreat Terms require facilitators to respect the level each couple grants.
There is no separate switch inside the app for this. Using your data to improve the platform and refine internal models is covered by the Privacy Policy you accept when you create your account — see AI & your data.

Ending it
Counselors and therapists in the directory are independent professionals. Clear Couples doesn’t provide their services, and working with one is separate from your Clear Couples subscription.

Changing your retreat privacy choice
Storage, retention and deletion — including the parts our policies deliberately don’t pin to a number.
Deletion isn’t instant, and it isn’t total
This Center explains our practices in plain language. It doesn’t replace the legal documents — the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service stay the complete and authoritative versions.
